How to Apply for Pan Card In India 2018

A code that acts as identification for individuals, corporates, families, and especially for those who pay income tax, and this code containing card is called pan card (Permanent account number). This card contains 10 unique characters numeric and alpha identifier.

PAN card allotted by the Indian income tax department under the supervision of the central board for direct taxes and it is an important proof of identity. It is used as foreign nationals matter to a valid visa, but its cant use as a proof of Indian citizenship.

The permanent account number is compulsory in the passport for foreign travel, driving license for a car, financial transactions and for opening a new bank account, purchase of foreign currency etc. even for apply business registration like Udyog Aadhaar and there are no age limits to applying for this card.

Application for new pan card and changes or correction data or reprint of existing PAN can be made online. And this application made with the help of either one of this 2 portal –

  1.    NSDL (https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan/index.html)
  2.     UTITSL (https://www.utiitsl.com/UTIITSL_SITE/pan/index.html).

Fee charges for applying PAN is Rs. 93 for Indian communication address and for foreign communication address this charge is Rs. 864.

We can make payment online through any of this, credit or debit card, demand draft or net banking.

After accepting our payment and application, you will send a necessary document through courier to NSDL or UTITSL.

Step by step guide to applying for PAN Card Registration via the   NSDL

  • https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html visits this NSDL website.
  • On this website click on application type and select from number 49A for resident individuals and 49AA for non-resident individuals.

  • Now select the individual category.
  • After that fill other details like date of birth, name and other mandatory details.

  • Now click on submit. After that one number will be generated. You have to continue with your PAN Application. You can save a screenshot of the page presenting the token number for your record just in case the token number does not get sent to your mail id due to some technical matter.

  • After this one new page appears on your screen. You can show 3 options for how to proceed with this application. Here 3 options are –
  1. Submit digitally through e-KYC and e-sign (Paperless)
  2. Submit this scanned images through e-Sign
  3. Forward this application documents physically.
  • Now fill up others details like Aadhar card number, your parent’s name etc. and you have an option that you printed either your mothers or fathers name on PAN card.

  • After filling all data you have to click on next button, and one page appears that asking to you fill other additional personal details like address, contact details, the source of income.

  • After filling all personal information, click on the next button.

  • The next step, you have to give your area code, AO type, AO number, range code. You can get details in this window itself.

  • After all this detailed filled up click on next.
  • In the last step, you have to choose and uploading documents and along with this your photocopy and signature.

  • According to NSDL helpline, once your documents are uploaded, you will have to make the payment of Rs 115.90 additional bank charges if any. You can pay using your debit or credit cards, Net banking or demand draft. If you have chosen to send the physical documents as an alternative of opting for e-KYC or e-Sign, then you will have to pay Rs 110.

  • Once you give your paying, you will be required to undergo the Aadhaar verification process. An OTP will be sent to the mobile/email linked to your Aadhaar.

  • If your Aadhaar authentication process is successfully completed, after take a print out of the receipt with the 15 digits unique acknowledgement numeral, sign on this and send it to the NSDL office address at- Income Tax PAN Services Unit, NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited, 5th Floor, Mantri Sterling, Plot No. 341, Survey No. 997/8, Model Colony, Near Deep Bungalow Chowk, Pune – 411016.

  • If your Aadhaar authentication procedure is not successful or your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar card, according to NSDL helpline, then take a print out of acknowledgment receipt, paste your photocopy and sign on the receipt. You will also have to send a photograph of the documents uploaded by yourself.

  • You should super-scribe the envelope with ‘APPLICATION FOR PAN -N-15 DIGIT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NUMBER’ (For e.g. ‘APPLICATION FOR PAN — N-881010200000097’).

  • You can send this covering via post or courier, and it should be reaching NSDL within 15 living days from the date of online application.
