Last year when the launch of e-KUV was announced, Mahindra was not just increasing their EV portfolio but also reaffirming their commitment for a greener and a safer environment. And as promised the e-KUV was unveiled during the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The e-KUV100 NXT is the first electric UV from Mahindra. Apart from certain changes, the eKUV100 looks largely identical to the regular KUV 100. The intimidating looks and the power of the EV’s internal combustion engine siblings were loved by the public. This is similar to the petrol/diesel KUV100.

The vehicle is equipped with a 7- inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS. The Bluesense App will let you control certain features such as remote diagnostics feature, cabin pre-cooling, real-time location tracking and even keeps an eye on the driving patterns of the drivers with battery status using your phone. The Intellipark helps you to park effortlessly in even the tightest spot.

Performance:

The e-KUV100 NXT comes with a 14kWh battery pack. Although it is smaller than the one used in the e-Verito, it provides the same range i.e., 100-140kms. in a single charge. With further development, the e-KUV100 is expected to use a much more powerful electric motor and battery pack for better range and performance. This upgraded motor will provide the driver with more power and torque on the road. The e-KUV has a sharp turning radius and with the aid of its electric power steering, it’s handling becomes very smooth. It takes almost 9 hours to charge completely but if you’re in a hurry, the e-KUV also features a fast charging facility that charges 80% within 90 minutes.

Safety:

The e-KUV feels like a fortress. The robust SUV comes forged in high strength steel with a tough monocoque construction. The vehicle is equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), dual airbags and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD). It has ISOFIX mounts for child seat on the rear seat with child safety locks on the rear door. Price:

The Mahindra e-KUV100 NXT is expected to be placed in the price range of ₹8-₹10 Lakhs. The price tag is reasonable when compared with the rest of the electric vehicles in the international market.
