From Super Aggressive to Calm as Sea – Kejriwal’s Political Evolution

Back in 2013 when Aam Aadmi Party made a debut in Delhi Elections, little did people (especially Delhiets) knew that they are going to see a big change in leadership as well as politics. Stunning rest of the seasoned parties to their core, Arvind Kejriwal, a studious person, won the elections with good margin. For the first time, people of Delhi came to know ‘their own’ importance as the party asked openly about Delhiets’ opinion.

The opinion came in favor of building the government but then it was by joining hands with Congress. Soon, Kejriwal declared that the company won’t do better for the citizen and then they again fought the election and registered a landslide victory.

Kejriwal was known for his aggression and straightforwardness. A person who had left lucrative jobs and government posts was now into improving the society and politics. He wasn’t diplomat and that resulted in ‘never-seen-before’ tussle with the central government including the unbeatable Narendra Modi and Lieutenant Generals of Delhi.

People will not forget his firing speech in front of national media when CBI raided his office. Much due to personal grudge, both the leaders from the center and Delhi were at loggerheads. AK warned Modi many times, but Modi, considering his stature kept quiet. Maybe, that’s his style to tackle opposition.

The second Delhi elections also showed marvelous job by Arvind Kejriwal despite few of his buddies including Kumar Vishwas and Kapil Mishra left the party. They called him a dictator but then by now, Kejriwal had learned a lot from the big brother Amit Shah and the boss of all Narendra Modi.

Down the line of seven years, Kerjriwal today, has become captain cool with speaking seldom against anyone. Though poked every minute and hour, he is not losing his calm. Probably politics and media have taught him a lot in these years.

Rather than mudslinging, Arvind Kejriwal has focused on work – from groundbreaking campaigns such as to fight with dengue to curb corruption and alleviate pollution, he is now more focused on environment, healthcare, and top of all education. And, the result is visible –a lot many international organizations and mains stream media have noticed and published about Moholla Clinic, Delhi’s reform in education, and AK’s movement to save the Mother Nature. This is the reason, conference like Daring Cities 2020 has called him for giving a speech.

There is a lot to learn for Kejriwal and he is not disappointing anyone. If he stays cool, calm, and diplomat like a seasoned politician, he’d be certainly paving his way as a big name in leadership. Maybe, down the line, the next PM.
