10 Crores Rs. claimed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitely could be larger than the current claim to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. But , today, Ram Jethmalani describe a crook to finance minister in court during cross examination of defamation case against Arvind Kejriwal.
Mr. Kejriwal’s choice of Mr Jethamalani as his main lawyer has been controversial in part because the government attempted to pay the 93-year-old’s fee Rs. 3.8 crore; 22 lakhs per appearance in court, and one crore in retainer-ship also.
Here’s the overall heated exchanges between Ram Jethmalani and Arun Jaitely in Delhi High Court:

Ram Jethmalani to Arun Jaitely’s lawyer – Stop objecting to each and everything. Seems you haven’t done any cross examination in your life.
Arun Jaitely’s lawyers quote section 151 and 152 of Indian Evidence act to try and stop Jethmalani from using news article as proof.
Ram Jethmalani – ‘I’m entitled to prove that
@arunjaitley is a crook.’
@arunjaitley – Is all this happening on the instructions of defendant no. 1 (
@ArvindKejriwal). If yes, I’m entitled to aggregated damages.
Huge commotion in court followed. Judge asked to confirm from defendant no 1 if he agrees to Mr. Jethmalani.
Jethmalani – I had several seatings with defendant no 1 and you can write that this statement is in his knowledge.
@arunjaitley to Jethmalani – You have personal interest in the case and are using it to malign me. You have led a life of personal malice.
@arunjaitley‘s lawyers create huge commotion in court and even shout at Mr Jethmalani. The language was loud and threatening in nature.
Jethmalani – It’s a suit for defamation and whether he is entitled for Rs 10 crore or even Rs 10 is under question.
Jethmalani – I’m asking questions which show
@arunjaitley has no reputation. In a defamation suit it’s important to put forth such points.
Jethmalani –
@arunjaitley has concealed all the crime and crockery he has done.

@TheRahulMehra is asked by AJ’s lawyers as to what is his interest in the case. Mehra retorts by saying that his interest goes back to 1999
@TheRahulMehra again raises the issue of shouting by Arun Jaitley’s lawyers at the senior most council in the court Mr Jethmalani.
Jethmalani – I’m not intimidated by anybody.
The proceedings for the day come to a halt. Next hearing on 28th July and 31st July.
Jaitley was visibly frustrated with the proceedings.
