Five Reasons iPhone Still Sells Even if Android Phones are More Advanced

Others Jessica Radburn 22 November 2017

It happens year after year and it never seems to go out of date. The argument continues to live on and its end is probably never going to happen. Which really is better, iPhone or an Android phone?

There are numerous smartphone brands carrying Google’s Android OS. Among the most popular Android smartphone brands is the Samsung. Every year, Samsung releases two top-of-the-line smartphones packed with the newest technology available in the market. On the other hand, iPhone seems to apply some of Samsung’s technology from three years ago to their most recent phone. So clearly, Apple does not seem too bothered to catch up on the Android technology.

5 Reasons iPhone Still Sells Even if Android Phones Beats the iPhone:

If you read through the internet, you will find countless articles supporting why Android smartphones are a better option than the super expensive iPhones. From customization features to other tips and tricks up to the hardware of Android smartphones, there’s really no question. However, despite all the advancement in the Android system, people are still supporting iPhones like crazy. On the day iPhone X was launched, people went through the ordeal of really long queues that have started since the night before. So why does iPhone sell?

#1. No bloatware problem:

Bloat-wares are those pre-installed apps on your smartphone, from the phone manufacturer, carrier, or third party developers who paid for these apps to be installed. These apps may or may not be useful but you have no control in deleting them out of your phone.

Bloatwares may seem to cause no harm but they do take up space and possibly the RAM also. There is only one way to delete them permanently and that is though rooting. It a complicated procedure that allows you to unlock you phone deeply. Unless you want to risk doing this, then may may just learn to accept these bloatwares and pray that you are going to get used seeing them. iPhones actually have some pre-loaded apps on them but these are quite a few and do not seem bothersome. And the good thing is that with the iOS 11, you have the option of disabling non-important apps on your iPhone.

#2. Faster speed:

Apple’s A11 Bionic chip has not been named that way just to make it appear powerful and futuristic. It is actually the ultimately most powerful processor ever made and used on phones, topping off Android’s. On test performance done on iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Samsung Galaxy S8, and other Android-running smartphones, iPhone scored way much higher than all the other smartphones which operate from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Even the exporting and opening of large files, the iPhone 8 still did better.

#3. Smooth hardware and software integration:

The 3D Touch Display, which was first introduced in the iPhone 6s, was a phenomenal breakthrough. Through its smart pressure sensors, the user can take several options on what to do with the app he or she has tapped on. Again, with just a tap, the Portrait Mode on the iPhone 8 Plus allows user to edit the lighting effects on the photo. With the very recently launched iPhone X, Apple took out the Touch ID and replaced it with a more secure identification process to unlock. The Face ID can identify the iPhone’s owner even if he or she does something with the hair and face. Additionally, it also has a feature where the user can downplay the security and allow the iPhone to open (still the Face ID turned on) even if the eyes are closed.

iPhones also work very well with the MacBook. Once you plug it Into the MacBook, you can actually send texts and do emails with your MacBook, all you need to do is effortlessly plug it in. If you were not able to finish your work, you can unplug it and finish your email through your iPhone. There are no need for third party apps to do all these. Even accessing the iCloud is as easy as that too.

#4. Better iOS updates:

The iPhone updates are downloadable right after they are released, and can be downloaded as long as your iPhone has no compatibility issues with the newest iOS. With Android updates, phone manufacturers have to go through so many things just to bring in the latest Google OS update. If you have an Android, there may be times when two updates will be available in a month’s time.

#5. Better security:

It is a proven fact that iPhone has the security edge that no other smartphone has caught up on. Apple has created ways to deepen its encryption, making illegal access to data close to impossible. The exclusivity of the iOS to Apple devices is one reason why it is more secure. Whereas in Android devices, it is open to a staggering number of smartphone manufacturers. We may be lax on our security but we should never take chances if our phones contain important and personal information that can be used against us when taken by the wrong hands. And Apple has quite understood that.

Basically, the argument on which is better just boils down to the preference of a person. Even when we come up with a much longer list on the pros of an iPhone over an Android, others may argue about its really expensive price tag. There are some people who are willing to pay for it because they feel that it is worth their bucks.
