India don’t need 7th Pay Commission…

If These Government Institutions Starts Paying Their Employees And Start Giving Increment To Their Employees Based On The Performance They Give, It Is Pretty Sure That We Would Not Be Needing These 6th Pay Or 7th Pay Commissions And Still These Government Employees Would Be Happy And Would Be Retaining Their Jobs

Do we really need 7th Pay Commission ?

Well, everywhere now we are having only one thing in discussion and that is 7th pay commission. Few are saying that government has not taken care of government employees properly. Few says that this pay commission have not done justice to government employees.

The real surprise is when people started posting on social media that ;

‘Jo kahte hain aaj nahi kal aana, unki salary 24% increase ho gayi’

Does it means that government employees are not working the way they should or it means that people who are posting messages like this on social medias are against our current government ?

 Well, the fact is that both of these statements are wrong.  Neither all government employees are inefficient nor are people who are posting such messages against our government. There are many or probably most of the government employees who are doing their job properly but few of them actually harming the image of being government employees. Let it be that babu in any government office or that senior officer who take bribes and if not; tell us to come again because ‘file abhi unke pass aayi hi nahi’.

We pay bribes, get through all difficulties and run from pillar to post just to get a/any governemt job. Fir chaahe vo ek peon ki post ho ya kisi manager ki. Most of us who are in government or private job understand and goes with the belief that most people try to get in a government job because of primarily two reasons:

  1. Job Security:

    We all know that once you get a job in any government institutions, you won’t be asked to leave the said job until you are into any exceptional circumstance. This means that even if you are working or not working properly, you still may happily retire with all possible facilities. This actually gives a feel of peace and in turn sometime lead you towards a non-goal oriented approach to your career. Surprise is that when government employees get suspended for any mistake and sit at home, they still get their portion of salary. There are some profiles which need the job security but not all jobs.                                                                                                                                    Well, the point is not to oppose their good salary but cant we have a policy or a reforms which says that let seniors of every employee appraise them for their job and then keep them if they are still worth holding in the institution. In the same institution one employee who is putting all his/her efforts to complete their job properly and another employee who is just passing time is getting recognized almost equally by the government because they both will continue to work along. Cant these employee also have an option of notice period where they loose their job security. Notice period may be of 1 year or 2 years for that  matter, but why cant we have this. Why we need to give job security to every job profile who is worth giving job security. If the job security get reduced, believe me; people will try to give their 100% to continue their existence in the institution.

  2. Fixed Salary with regular increment:

    A fixed salary with regular increment via DA (mahangaayi bhatta). We all know that a we need increment majorly because of inflation. If government is giving approx 6% hike in every 6 month or in a year and then giving a decent salary hokes in pay commissions, are they really paying less? In our country, revenue deficit from government institutions are more than 3%. Where it must run into profits, we are talking about deficits. There are many post which has not got filled yet in these government institutions. Some says that this is because of more use of computers and IT, they need less employees to complete the same job. Does it really make sense?? If yes, why they have these post and ten why vacant? They can bring the reforms where they can remove these posts which are not required to be filled. But the fact is different and the fact is that because of those non-worthy employees in these government institutions, government is not in a situation to fill these post because ‘pahle hi deficit me hai fir aur employment huyi to kaha jayengi ye intitutions’.

Why similar salary to same batch? Why similar salary to same designation? Why similar salary to  same profile?

Cant we have salaries getting increased based on the performance given by the employee and appraisal given by their seniors ?

Its very evident that government will save a lot by not paying employees who are not worth paying and similarly employees who are really putting their all to achieve their work must get what they expect in terms of salary. If these government institutions starts paying their employees and start giving increment to their employees based on the performance they give, it is pretty sure that we would not be needing these 6th pay or 7th pay commissions and still these government employees would be happy and would be retaining their jobs.

We all know for the fact that private employees are better in terms of performance than to these government employees (except few) and it is simply because they neither have any job security nor they get any fixed salary with regular increment. It’s all based on their performance and this force them to put their best.

Well, now the problem does not end here… The problem start here… does these thought will not let all employee union doing dharnaas… definetly they will. Does these thoughts will stop us to look for a government job, yes it will.. But the final point is, short term gain ke liye long term loss to karna accha nahi hai na…

Remove these pay commission reforms and bring something new which is really good and equal for all.
