Never Give Your 100% – It’s Important To Grow In Your Life/Career

Yes, you read it right and this goes everywhere. The moment you give your 100%, you are gone. Let it be your life or your career.

Always keep something with you as a scope to grow. Many a times we hear people saying that “give your 110%” or “I have given my 110%”. Guys, forget about giving 110% or anything more than 100% because that’s not possible anyway. But, the fact is that if you are also giving your 100%, you are losing your scope of growth.

Now let me clarify that not giving your 100% does not mean not finishing your assigned task in stipulated time. Rather, it means that one should finish their assigned task within stipulated time, but not by giving their 100%.

Types of people:
  1. People who complete their assigned task without giving their fullest whereas
  2. The other type people are who can’t complete their work even if they give their 100%. One should always try to become the type one.

Practical Fact Sheet:

Now, let us understand the practicality and the real benefit lying in this funda and that’s pretty simple. If by giving 70-80% efforts you are completing your task, this means that you still have scope to utilise your another 20-30% of efforts to generate more result.

People who still have scope to utilise their skills/efforts will always be treated as performers in the companies. You would have encountered cases where two teammates performed the same task but only one get recognised to be promoted. This happened because company understood that if given bigger role/profile, he/she can easily handle that because of the scope left to utilise their efforts as they haven’t used them 100% yet.

At every level the same funda follows.  I am sure, you would have also encountered people who have grown well in earlier days and suddenly stopped or had a very low pace of growth. These are those people who initially use to complete their assigned task by putting lesser efforts. But, when they start putting their 100% or close to 100%, even when they are completing their assigned task, they would not be considered well to get promoted.

Final GYAN

So the gyan is that guys always try increasing your work stamina if you want to grow in your life or career. One can only grow if he/she has that scope left to be grown and that’s only possible if you have better work stamina than what is required to complete your task.

It’s not something which is one day exercise. One have to work daily to make sure that you are able to achieve whatever given before it is expected so as to prove none other than you that yes, you are fit to get growing.

So, like I mentioned initially, never give your 100% if you are really willing to grow in your life or career.
