All about Renault’s New Launch in India
Renault has already fared well in India with Duster and KWID. Now, the company is all set to launch the Captur. The declaration has already got many car enthusiasts’ adrenaline pumping. It is an SUV that’s claimed to sit above the already popular Duster.
In the past few years, there has been an invasion of SUVs in the country. The Renault Captur will certainly face a tough competition. It needs the best of equipment, expediency and dynamic performance to attract buyers.

At an international level, the new Renault Captur has been upgraded with a huge number of smarts. This card will unlock doors and start engine as one approaches the vehicle with the card. As you start moving away, the car will automatically lock the start function including all doors. It does not require any kind of human intervention.
A 7-inch infotainment system is fitted inside the Captur. It runs on R-Link firmware of Renault with full support for Android Auto. Captur’s interface presents a very modest layout.

This is a premium inclusion which might not be considered in India due to cost cutting. However, experts and car fanatics keep their fingers crossed. We might get lucky to accommodate this feature.

Car enthusiasts are expecting Captur to borrow some features and equipment from the European version. However, the Indian version will not be the same. It is being built on the M0 platform (Renault Duster fame). Just as with other Renault diesel cars in India, things are localized, highly to ensure cost cutting. The engine options will be 1.5-litre (petrol) and 1.5-litre K9K (diesel). The SUV may be launched only with manual transmission. Later, it will be followed by automatic transmission variant and 4-wheel drive option.
Competition and Pricing
Aiming at entering a highly competitive segment that’s presently ruled by the much popular Hyundai Creta, Captur will certainly face huge competition. The pricing of this car is expected to be somewhere within INR 15 lac. The India launch will happen only towards the end of year 2017.
